Why are the parents in this story trying to sue their own parents? What are they even suing them over? Their child is nearly an independent adult, and he chose to leave home. He also didn't just go anywhere, he went to a family member's home. They can't sue their parents because their grandchild is staying with them. What do they expect the cops to do? People always think they can just threaten someone else with a cop call, but cops don't really care.

17-year-old flees home to live with grandparents when mom announces she’s having a 6th child, parents try to sue them for taking their son: “I couldn’t take it anymore”
I grew up being the baby in the family. Being the youngest has its perks; your parents are more lenient with you, and your older siblings can go through all the parental experiments and costly consequences before you. Not only was I the youngest, but I only have one older sister, so things were pretty simple growing up. Not everyone has the privilege of a simple household. Some have multiple siblings, which can create stressful environments if the parents aren't careful.
Being the eldest comes with a heavy responsibility. Some parents expect that the eldest will almost act as a third parent, babysitting far too often than one is comfortable with, picking up your younger siblings from school, soccer practice, or piano lessons. You're supposed to be the role model as well. The eldest doesn't have it easy. It could even cost you part of your childhood depending on when you were born.
In the story below, the protagonist is the eldest in his family, and this creates heavy strains not only on his mental health and happiness, but also destroys a lot of his relationship ties to his parents. He decides to leave home early, but you'll have to read the full story below for all the juicy details.
